History - A Premier League First
Was today one for the history books?

When was the last time a team had a bench where all 6 of their outfield substitutes scored in the previous competitive game? Three of whom came on during the game today.

I cannot recall a time where we had a squad this strong. Whilst scoring 8 goals in a game is rare, I cannot think of any premier league team, even the big 6, being in a position where they have been able to name a bench of 6 outfield players who scored in their last game.

Lily Hammer, I remember a 3-0 game in the late 60's or early 70's when we ran rings around them. But I agree in principle, for sure :)

In a way, I prefer the "give everything to win" games we've won against them.

It was the first time we've ever beaten Man U with ease, hardly moving out of second gear. We've beaten them a fair few times, but that would always involve busting our bollocks with backs against the Alamo defending for the most part.

Double cross bob, it was never gonna be easy to get that many new players to.gel quickly. I am.prepared to give them.the benefit of the doubt now that we seen to have turned the corner, and say we may have mistaken their initial lack of cohesion on early nerves and understanding of their new teammates as them.being lazy.

i also think we was the 1st club ever to have a goalkeeper as a sub when you was only allowed 1 sub back in the days
it was a last game of the season and we could of got relegated if we had lost by 7 or 8 goals so it was played safe in case 1st choice keeper got injured in game

The squad is strong but it is the same squad that lost the first 4 games I think the key thing is this group of players have realised they have collective responsability to work fucking hard to win games. I'm looking forward to what they can achieve this season if we can avoid injuries
